The Sonic Youth and Gone tracks are from the movie Lovedolls Superstars from 1986....
By the way, Sebadoh was a lot of fun. I think I may have lost my cool once...or twice and the set-list had two columns. Lou Barlow played a fucked up 12 string guitar which was missing 5 strings. Lou and Jason did switcheroos between bass and guitar and each time played four more songs. Nuts-o. It was the Bakesale revival tour, or something, so they played, I think, the entire album. The last song of the night was "Sorry", which Lou prefaced by telling the old 90s superstar rock band sob story of how they made their label (Sub Pop) lose tens of thousands of dollars - while pandering themselves to the mainstream sonically. *douche chill* This was the way it should have sounded on the record, Lou announced before playing these riffs btw the vox (which, i dunno if they were even there before) suuper hard, like almost metal (also perhaps known as "grunge"(see grunge rock) a style of rock music characterized by a raucous guitar sound and lazy vocal delivery. - thx merriam webster). I guess I first sought out Sebadoh based on the Kids soundtrack (because I was a really cool 16 year old) which resulted in a close kinship with the album III. The extended edition of that album has the Showtape '91 thing on it, a piece of tape that should probably left unexplained in the blogohfuckosphere.
the lesson? you can not ask a curly haired self-identified sensitive man with a broken 12 string guitar to turn a buck.
